Posted March 06, 2020 12:18:56Apple said on Thursday it will offer new iPhone 6, 6 Plus and 6S models without cover, a change that comes after reports of issues with the company’s iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.
The iPhone 6S and 6+ will be the first Apple models without covers, the company said in a statement on Thursday, noting the move came after customers reported issues with Apple’s previous models, including the iPhone 6.
The iPhone SE and SE Plus models will remain available in black and white.
While Apple says the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C are not affected by the new design changes, customers are encouraged to change their phone models.
Apple said that it will continue to offer a range of protective cases and covers, but those without covers will no longer be sold on the iPhone.
Earlier this month, Apple unveiled the iPhone 7 lineup and a new iPhone 7 Plus model that would replace the existing iPhone 7 with a smaller iPhone 7S model.
The company said the new iPhone model is compatible with both the iPhone SE, SE Plus and the iPhone X, and it will ship in December.
