What’s new on iPad Pro 12.9
Axios is reporting that Apple is expected to release a new iPad Pro model with the new IPS LCD screen in September.
The new model will sport a 5.7-inch Quad HD IPS display with a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, a 2766 x 1440 resolution, and a pixel density of 1,312 ppi.
It will feature a new design for a more ergonomic design, with a more natural feel, with more comfortable curves, a new rounded edge for better grip, and new buttons for the home screen, a redesigned volume rocker and a new Siri-powered voice search feature.
The screen size has been bumped up to 13.3 inches, with the display’s pixels doubling from 441 ppi to 618 ppi, while the screen’s aspect ratio has also been increased to 16:9.
This will allow for higher resolutions in apps, including more games and videos, and will allow developers to push up their native resolution even more.
The screen has a 5MP camera on the backside, a front facing 3MP camera, and dual microphones for Siri and Apple Pay.
The design will be slightly larger than previous models, with new rounded edges, new curves, and more comfortable feel for the users.
The new iPad will sport an all-glass body, with glass front and rear glass panels.
The iPad Pro’s hardware has been upgraded to support Apple Pencil, which is the first iPad to use the same type of technology as the new iPhone XS and XS Max.
There’s also support for Touch ID, which makes it possible to authenticate users through the Apple Pay system.
The company says the iPad Pro will also be the first tablet to offer Apple Pencilling and iCloud services, with users able to use Apple Pencilling to securely create handwritten notes and images on the go.
Apple is also expected to announce an upgraded version of Apple Pen Casing in September, which will include a new 3D Touch pressure sensitive display.
The iPhone Xs and Xs Max will also sport improved display tech with Apple Penclings, with better color accuracy, better viewing angles, and brighter colors.
The Xs models will also feature new color accuracy that allows for more accurate color grading and higher contrast.
The updated iPad will also get a much-improved design for the front, with rounded edges and a more comfortable fit.
There will be a larger battery, a larger screen, and an improved camera.
The front of the new iPad comes with a new, wider, 12.3-inch display with an A10 Fusion processor and dual cores, along with 64GB of storage.
The rear of the tablet features a new 10.5-inch screen with a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution.
The redesigned iPad comes in two sizes: 16GB and 32GB.
Both will have 128GB of onboard storage, and Apple is promising a 256GB model for $649.
The tablet will feature Apple Pen Clings, Apple Pen Touch ID support, and Siri for voice recognition, all of which Apple says will make it easier to get work done, with Apple Pay on the way.
The updated iPad Pro is expected on September 26th.
